The idea of Krogu was derived from a perfect synthesis of texture and design. I met my dear friend and partner, Miguel Ruiz Aviles, in the mystical mountains of Sierra Madre, a place with centuries of rich jewelry-making traditions.

I was already moving away from the symmetry in jewelry design and free forming of silver wire before visiting Sierra Madre. Together, Miguel and I formed an union of determination and struggle, which translated into the creation of an unparalleled jewelry line, Krogu.

Texture of Krogu represents the rawest and most vivid form of human perception. Pieces that evoke joy.

After seeing the expressions of pleasure and happiness in the wearers of the jewelry, I began to think about the bond that this jewelry creates with its wearer, and from that concept, Krogu was born.

The word Krogu is derived from the Old Slavic and besides circle  means “binding” or “a band around a finger.”

Big kiss to my dear friend Sladjana who helped me find the name  during one of those sticky nights with the light breeze of Miami late spring .The night when Krogu was born.

Always remember my dear buddy Peter who tragically passed away. Big part of Krogu family , he will forever be part of our existance.Without him Krogu would not takeoff from St John as a recognizable brand . Big place in my heart.  Always. For his energy and his goodness . RIP.
